We have opportunities for one-off visits to Kibera to observe a Girls’ Empowerment Group or Boys’ Empowerment Group, which meet every day Monday through Friday, with children ages 6-12 in the mornings and teenagers ages 13-18 in the afternoons, or art empowerment clubs on Saturdays from 2-4pm.
We will give you an orientation, share our 10-minute documentary, and ensure you have a safe experience led by our Field Officers.
Here are some of our requirements:
- We request a donation of $20 for a visit to off-set our costs
- No photos may be taken during the time so as to not be disruptive to the class and to simply experience the moment first-hand rather than through a camera; however, you can access our database of photos
- Please be on time. If you are late we will not wait for you – respecting the students’ time is our #1 priority
